Who's that Pokemon?

Description

A comic I've had in my head for years, but never put it down until now.

The video game and TV show have some strange differences, one of them being that the game's featured soundbites for Pokemon resemble a dial-up modem while the show almost always has the pokemon just say their own name, with some exceptions. So if a pokemon says its own name as its only mode of speech, does that mean every pokemon was simply named after the sounds it made? And how does that work with pokemon whose names derive from Latin, English, and Japanese origin? How were the very first Slowpokes supposed to know that when they were first spawned from Pokeprimordial ooze that their name would become a euphemism in American slang? ...Or maybe we are to believe that the slang term came from the sociological comparison to the pokemon: a slow person was jokingly referred to as a slowpoke based on the already existing slow pokemon "Slowpoke." But in that case, language itself would have had to have been descendant from the very sounds pokemon made... That would mean that pokemon actually invented language merely by making random sounds which humans imitated and then incorporated into their language using pokemon names as a basis for cognitive meaning. Take Ghastly for instance - it would say its name and then a human would incorporate the sound of the name to correlate with the characteristics of ghost pokemon within human language. Hence "ghastly" as a word relating to aghast, terrifying, scary, etc. So in the pokemon world, pokemon weren't named after their characteristics - characteristics were named after pokemon!

I feel like i just solved a mystery.
